On April 18 and 19, 2018, nearby residents joined project staff in discussing the Bascom Corridor Complete Streets Study. If you did not have a chance to attend the meetings or if you have additional comments, you can take the short online survey. We are using all comments we received during and after the April meetings and results of this survey to update and revise the design concepts.
The joint planning study with the City of San Jose, Campbell, County of Santa Clara Roads and Airports Dept., is evaluating 5.9 miles of Bascom Avenue from I-880 at Bascom-Forest and Rose Garden neighborhoods in San Jose to SR-85 and Los Gatos border.
The purpose of this multi-jurisdictional planning study is to identify opportunities along Bascom Avenue to demonstrate and advance Complete Streets improvements. The study is evaluating streetscape improvements, transit travel times, signal coordination, and multiple means of travel access, safety, and connectivity.
Public feedback was incorporated into the design alternatives which were on display at the April 2018 community meetings. The public reviewed and provided feedback directly to the project staff.
Gathering public input is critical to the success of all the planning efforts VTA undertakes, and for those who missed the meetings, there is still an opportunity to provide feedback. View the alternative designs and email your comments to community.outreach@vta.org. Your feedback will be shared with the project team as they move forward with the preferred alternative.
We encourage you to sign up for project updates and take a few minutes to take the online survey.
