Celebrating Our Women Making History
03/04/2024
Women's History Month, celebrated every March in several countries, is a dedicated time to recognize and honor the contributions and achievements of women throughout history and contemporary society.
March 8 we also celebrate International Women’s Day. International Women's Day has a specific theme every year. For 2024, the theme is ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.’ It is aimed at tackling economic disempowerment.
Both celebrations serve as a crucial reminder of women's struggles for equality and their significant impact on all aspects of life.
Recognizing Women's History Month is important because it fosters a greater understanding of their role in shaping our world.
In celebration of Women's History Month, VTA is proud to present a compelling series of videos spotlighting the extraordinary contributions of "Women Innovating Transit" (WIT) members within our agency.
WIT is a groundbreaking effort led by a dynamic group of women at VTA. This initiative, the first of its kind, features a core team of ten women, all of whom bring invaluable experience as front-line workers.
Viewers will gain insight into how these remarkable women are making history at VTA by fostering a culture of support, empowerment, and advocacy for women.
Join us in honoring these trailblazers who are not only making history within our agency but are also paving the way for future generations of women in transit.
