Time to make lemons into lemonade! Or Clipper Cards into Mobile transit payment, as the case may be.  

The global supply chain backups are making their way to plastics, such as what’s used to make Clipper Cards causing a shortage in those cards. So, Clipper is helping to solve that problem by offering an incentive to pay for transit with your mobile device. Clipper will waive the $3 fee (Hey, it’s enough to buy a cup of coffee!) when you download the Clipper app and put your Clipper balance into you Wallet app. Then, with the “untouch” of a mobile phone to a reader, fare is paid and you’re on your way, sans plastic, no hold up.

The Clipper Card is good on all VTA transit, and many other transit agencies throughout the Bay Area.
