This volunteer committee ensures that 2016 Measure B funds are spent as promised to voters.
What Does the MBCOC Do?
The MBCOC monitors 2016 Measure B expenditures, reports to the public on compliance with the ballot language, and ensures transparency in how funds are used. The committee’s work helps keep voters informed and ensures accountability in transportation funding.
Why Join?
By serving on the MBCOC, you can contribute to meaningful oversight that benefits the entire community. The committee has conducted numerous audits, public hearings, and issued annual reports every year to inform the community, helping to enhance the administration of VTA’s 2016 Measure B programs.
- Meetings: Approximately five times per year at VTA’s Headquarters (River Oaks B-106) in San Jose, CA.
- Time Commitment: Estimated 15-20 hours per year
- Eligibility: Must be a registered voter in Santa Clara County; cannot be an elected official or VTA/Member Agency Staff
- Term: Four years, with a maximum of two consecutive terms
- Application Selection: Open and competitive, seeking a balance of professional experience

Online applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. The MBCOC is comprised of eight (8) membership positions representing specific areas of expertise needed to assist the Committee in fulfilling its responsibilities. Currently, there are four vacancies, so now is a great time to apply!
