UPDATE: The deadline for public input has been extended to January 3, 2022. 

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has announced a Request for Information (RFI) soliciting public input on potential changes to the existing Title VI Circular. FTA’s Title VI Circular provides guidance to FTA recipients on how to comply with requirements under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the DOT Title VI regulations, which prohibit discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in federally funded programs.

Transit riders and the transit industry’s input is critically important in identifying and informing FTA of any potential changes to the existing Title VI Circular. FTA will use this information to evaluate potential action from all interested parties.

All comments are due by Monday, January 3, 2022.
