Starting this spring, VTA will be repairing or replacing worn elements of the light rail overhead catenary system (OCS). As a result, segments of the light rail lines will be closed for construction periodically from late May through late September which may result in transit impacts to popular events and attractions this summer.
Light rail service in areas impacted by this construction will be replaced by bus service or a “bus bridge” to ensure passengers can still travel to their destinations.
If your summertime activities include using the light rail to chase thrills at California’s Great America, attending FanimeCon in your best cosplay, or catching superstar headliners in concert at Levi's Stadium, please note the potential impacts and plan your trip accordingly.
