Spring into action this Sunday, April 23rd as Viva CalleSJ returns for the first event of the year. Bike, skate, walk, play, and enjoy free-wheeling through the open streets. Viva CalleSJ is a free recreation program that temporarily closes over 6 miles of San Jose streets to bring communities together.
The “Willow to Roses” route connects the Municipal Rose Garden, San Jose State University, and Willow Glen with an activity hub at each location. You’ll find plenty of food, live music, vendors, and bike parking as you go from one activity hub to the next. Remember, this is not a race so feel free to start anywhere and have as much fun as you want, in any direction.
Make sure to visit the VTA bus and booth at the Willow Glen Activity Hub. We’re ready to help you learn how to use the bike rack, so don’t be intimidated!
The festivities start at 10 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. Follow the event on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, or visit vivacallesj.org for the latest information, including street closures and bus line re-routing.
Ride VTA to Viva Calle so you don’t miss out on the fun! Use Clipper on your phone and Contact VTA Customer Service, or use the Transit app, to plan your hassle-free trip. We hope to see you out there!
And don't forget our Ask VTA series event all about bicycle and pedestrian programs, Monday, May 1st at 6 pm. RSVP here.
