Headed to the fireworks display to celebrate 4th of July? Take VTA to the festivities in downtown San Jose’s Discovery Meadow at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4 or to Great America!
VTA will be operating a Sunday/Holiday schedule on light rail with extra service trains on both the Blue and Green Lines to improve frequency before and after the fireworks in downtown San Jose. VTA will operate on the regular Sunday/Holiday bus service schedule throughout the evening.
Remember to use Clipper mobile for easy fare payment and Transit app for trip planning, real-time information, and service alerts.
Pre-Event Light Rail Service
All three light rail lines will operate on normal Sunday/Holiday schedule until approximately 8 p.m., with additional cars to help get you to your destination. Extra northbound service will be added between Santa Teresa and Winchester Stations to Civic Center Station at that time to provide approximately 15-minute service. The Green Line will serve the Convention Center Station, and the Blue Line will serve both the Convention Center and Children’s Discovery Museum Stations.
Post-Event Light Rail Service
Downtown San Jose: Passengers headed towards Winchester or Old Ironsides/Mountain View on the Green Line will board at the Convention Center Station. Passengers headed towards Santa Teresa or Baypointe/Alum Rock on the Blue Line should board at the Children’s Discovery Museum Station.
Great America: The schedule is designed so that a train will service Great America Station in both directions shortly after the end of the Great America fireworks show.
Happy 4th of July!
