For small businesses looking to impact mobility in Santa Clara Valley…this is for you! VTA’s Office of Business Diversity Programs (OBDP) is holding its 1st Annual Contracts & Contacts event on May 1st.
This is a chance for Small or Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (SBE/DBE)to meet the planners, teams, sister agencies, community-based organizations, and other small and large businesses that work with VTA to build projects such as the BART Silicon Valley Extension and the Eastridge to BART Regional Connector (light rail extension.)

In order to make this an especially meaningful use of your time, you’ll be able to connect with VTA contracts and procurement personnel from various departments. You’ll also have a chance to meet reps from other governmental agencies.
We have made a few new connections with organizations such as Prosperity Lab, the Silicon Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and the SBE/DBE Construction Coalition Group and are looking forward to their participation as well.
OBDP’s goal is to get contracts into the hands of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) and Small Business Enterprises (SBEs). We also want small and disadvantaged businesses to meet new people and make new contacts, which ultimately fulfills all our goals! We hope that this event helps not only small businesses but also the large, prime businesses, which are required to meet DBE and SBE goals on VTA’s and its sister agencies’ contracts. We are asking our prime contractors to bring their contracting opportunities that are ready for small businesses and suppliers.
And since it’ll be lunchtime we’ll have food trucks for you to purchase lunch during your time with us, including Chick N’ Bros, ABVEtheBasics, and Kona Island Coffee!
