It’s August, which means it’s almost time for Silicon Valley Pride to make its triumphant return! There will be events from August 23rd to the 27th, including a drag queen cookoff, a pride flag raising and rainbow light ceremony at San Jose City Hall, and a movie night at the SJ Giants ballpark.
But the festivities truly kick off for the weekend of August 28-29. On Sunday, August 29 you'll see our specially-wrapped bus in the Silicon Valley Pride parade, along with the smiling faces of our employees. VTA, like so many public agencies, is as diverse as the community. That's why we're out in support of our LGBTQIA+ friends, family, coworkers…and of course the people we are proud to serve every day.
The parade starts at 10 a.m. near Julian and Market St in downtown San Jose and will continue south to Plaza De Cesar Chavez Park. After the parade, a day festival begins, letting the party continue until 6 p.m. The following VTA bus routes can get you to the festivities: 500, 522, 22, 523, 23, 64A/B, 66, 68, 72, 73, and light rail Bus bridge. We hope to see you there!
