Ready, Set, Ride! Big Service Improvements Are Coming October 11th!

Date

We cannot thank our riders enough for your patience, compassion, and understanding as we bring our service back to pre-pandemic levels. Starting Monday, October 11th, you'll notice many schedule modifications, later operating hours on some routes, increased frequency on many routes, and even a new Rapid. These positive developments bring VTA service closer to a full recovery, which we expect to happen in early 2022.

The new Rapid 568 begins service on October 11th, providing a dedicated link between downtown San Jose and Gilroy/Morgan Hill with improved all-day frequency. This bus route replaces the Express 168 and gives riders more consistent service without an express bus fee. Significant changes are coming to routes 59, 70, and 71 as well.

  • Route 59 will be extended to Stevens Creek & Saratoga Ave seven days a week.
  • Route 70 will be extended to Capitol Station, replacing part of route 71.
  • Route 71 will end at Eastridge. Service will operate every 30 minutes seven days a week.

See below for a full list of changes to all routes.
