What
Starting Friday, July 10 at 7 PM, all Westbound lanes on Montague Expwy will be closed. Starting Friday, July 10 at 9 PM all Eastbound lanes on Montague Expwy will be closed. This is a complete shutdown in both directions for the entire weekend.
A detour will be provided on S. Milpitas Blvd through the Milpitas Transit Center and BART Station. Piper Dr, Falcon Dr, and Border Wy will be closed at Montague Expwy. The on-going right-most lane closure on Westbound Montague will remain in effect going forward because it is needed as the staging area for the bridge and construction equipment.
Lanes in both directions will reopen at 5 AM on Monday, July 13.

WHY
Road closure due to the construction of a pedestrian overcrossing. A VTA-led crew will work round-the-clock to hoist a pedestrian bridge onto its supporting columns with a large crane.

COMMUNITY IMPACTS
Round-the-clock noise, lights, dust, and construction vehicles driving forward and in reverse with the accompanying beeping noise that is required by OSHA for safety. Drivers should obey the posted speed limit. Affected bus routes will utilize the detour. Thank you for your patience.
