Weather and conditions permitting, San Jose Water Company, and their contractor, Pacific Underground Construction (PUC), will continue relocating existing and installing new underground water facilities.
San Jose Water Company provides notices to residents, schools, and businesses at least three days before they begin work in their area. If there is any disruption to water service, San Jose Water Company will notice their customers 48 hours in advance.
Crews will be working on Capitol Avenue/Expressway between Wilbur Avenue and Tudor Court.
Overnight activities will take place along Capitol Expressway @ Story Road, 9 PM-5 AM
Activities will occur at the following locations during the day 9 AM - 3:30 PM
- Capitol Expressway and Highwood Drive
- Capitol Expressway and Bambi Lane
- Capitol Expressway and Kollmar Drive
- Capitol Expressway @ Story Road (overnight beginning 2/14)

Underground water lines need to be relocated before construction of the light rail extension can move forward next year. It is necessary to relocate underground utilities that are in conflict with the final project.

When necessary, intermittent, temporary detours will be utilized. Follow posted detour signs.
- Noise from heavy construction equipment used for drilling, concrete and pavement removal, installation of water mains, and replacement of concrete and pavement
- Noise from construction vehicles driving forward and in reverse with back up alarms beeping
- Temporary, intermittent lane or shoulder closures and detours
- Temporary, intermittent sidewalk closures and detours
- Temporary driveway impacts
- San Jose Water service interruptions will be noticed 48 hours in advance. San Jose Water will provide customers with the notice.
VTA Bus and Light rail service are not expected to be impacted.
