The River Oaks Station site is a 18-acre property located at the corner of North First Street and River Oaks Parkway in North San José, California. This property currently serves as VTA’s administrative headquarters and a Park & Ride lot for VTA Light Rail passengers, which is served by VTA’s Blue and Green lines.
This land has the potential for mixed-use Transit-Oriented Development (TOD). Projects that are transit-oriented allow people to live and work near public transportation, which helps clear the air, ease traffic, and adds infrastructure investments to the community.
VTA's Transit-Oriented Development Program works with municipal, non-profit, and private partners to encourage the development of housing, retail, and employment centers in places that will help increase transit ridership and contribute to a vibrant community.
Station Access Study
VTA will initiate a Station Access Study in early 2025 to analyze multi-modal access and circulation to and from the station and development area.
Community Outreach
VTA delivers outreach to the community in many ways, from email, web page posting like this, signage, tabling at events, presenting at your neighborhood association, and by mail notifications, to name a few. We use multiple approaches to ensure the community is informed and allow for authentic engagement.
